Associate Director / Director Customer Research (APAC)

The incumbent will lead a team of professionals across major country markets in APAC. Must possess strong ability to motivate, inspire a team and lead them towards excellence. International research and project management experience are a must, with the focus on quantitative but with a good knowledge of qualitative. A strong understanding of statistics and data analysis tools is also important, as are strong client handling abilities and real commercial awareness.

Business development is an integral part of the role, so candidates need to demonstrate a track record of attracting and managing new clients, with top-notch proposals and presentation skills. Teamwork is of the essence so motivational team management and coaching skills are also sought.

To fill this role we are looking for a Market Research practitioner with a minimum of 10 years’ post graduation experience in analytical market research roles. Ideal candidates will have excellent academics, possibly with an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline. You must have excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills and knowledge and experience of multivariate techniques would be a distinct advantage. You must be willing to be hands-on whilst being able to communicate and advise senior clients and members of the firm on how to translate business issues into researchable questions that will generate useable insight.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of hands-on, custom, survey market research experience.
  • Solid track record of success (measured in profitable revenues) in developing clients, writing proposals
  • Solid experience managing and mentoring staff with a management style that fosters a team environment.
  • Background to include research project management (in-house execution) and operations environment.
  • Management skills to balance needs of project directors, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Strong supervisory skills, quality orientation, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in designing and executing processes to ensure project timeliness and flawless execution.

In this role, you will be involved in designing, selling and executing customer research studies, as well as acting as a consultant of research and design issues. You will help develop sales plans and strategies to expand business into new accounts and grow revenue throughout the existing client base. You will be expected to provide timely reporting on progress regarding revenue, profit and client generation, pricing, competitive activity, etc. You will represent our company through key market visits, research results presentations, sales prospect interaction, as well as industry events.
